Anyone still around in this tribe that wants to compare the best talkfests - the ones that go beyond the usual jerk-off sessions where they praise all the technical people and yak about what order the film was shot in and whether it was raining that day?
I'll post my favorites in detail if this starts getting responses.
My all-time favorite is from Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, where they tracked down ALL the children who appeared in the film. We get to hear them walking down memory lane and discuss who had a crush on whom. If you don't end that commentary with a glowing smile on your face, you're made of stone.

Re: Best DVD commentary tracks
Mon, September 18, 2006 - 2:04 PMThe Spinal Tap special edition (where they are in character, as opposed to the rare Criterion edition where they are not) is the funniest commentary of all time, bar none. (And I bet most of it was improvised, which is even more amazing.) Even if you've seen the movie dozens of times, it's like watching it for the first time. :-D
Runner ups are any commentary with John Carpenter and Kurt Russell, the Dawn of the Dead actors' commentary (though on the Ultimate Edition it runs over the inferior Dario Argento edit), and the Shaun of the Dead cast commentary (Esp. when they're all doing their respective Bill Nighy impressions.)
