James Dean

With this year being the 50th anniversary of James Dean's death, there'll be The Complete James Dean Collection coming down the pike on May 31. The interesting aspect of this release is that it will include "East of Eden," which has yet to get the DVD treatment and has been unavailable on VHS since 1995. "Rebel Without a Cause" and "Giant" (a film that gets increasingly hokey as it goes along) will also be included in the set. DVD special features include new documentaries, commentaries, deleted scenes, behind the scenes segments, screen tests and more, with a SRP of about $70.

I saw some kind of screen test of Dean and Marlon Brando on Sunday Morning Shootout on AMC a few months ago. It was more like an audition for a studio and not directly connected to a single film, IIRC. I wonder if that is will be in the collection.
